1400228168b6b742_lSo far, not many concerts have been announced for summer 2015 in Boston.  However, a few big shows were recently announced.

Taylor Swift will be performing at Gillette Stadium for 2 shows on July 24th and July 25th.  These shows are located at Gillette Stadium which is south of Boston in Foxborough, MA.

It was recently announced that James Taylor will host a concert at Fenway Park in Boston on August 6th.  He will be joined by his All Star Band and Bonnie Raitt will be the opening act.

One Directioners know that the English pop/rock boy band, One Direction, will be headlining at Gillette Stadium on September 12th in Foxborough.

Also coming to Gillette Stadium is Kenny Chesney, a country music mega-star!  He will be hitting the stage August 28th and 29th.

Other shows coming to Boston… Bette Midler (6/12), Barry Manilow (6/16), Nickelback (8/18), 5 Seconds of Summer (8/28) and the Who (10/29).  More concerts will be added within the next few months.

kenny chesneyThis coming year, Kenny Chensey will be taking part in 2 tours.  The first is the “Burn it Down Tour” with Jason Aldean.  These tour dates have already gone on sale and have sold out in most venues.

The second tour is Kenny Chesney’s “The Big Revival Tour” has several dates that have been announced, however, the full tour is not yet unveiled.  No word on on-sale dates as of yet.  Even though tickets are not yet on sale to the general public or made available through pre sale, ticket resale companies have guaranteed inventory available.  This is made possible from season ticket holders, vip access and other sources.

Fans unable to purchase tickets on the on-sale or pre sale dates can pre-purchase tickets from resale marketplaces or order them after the tour dates have sold out.  Either way, the resale websites typically charge an inflated price based on demand, cost to obtain the tickets and operating costs.  Regardless of the price, these websites usually offer a 100% or 125% guarantee and are among the safest methods of obtaining event tickets.

Other advantages to a resale marketplace is the ability to choose where you’d like to sit.  With the primary ticket sellers, (generally Ticket Master or Live Nation), you are purchasing tickets at the same time as everyone else to try to get better seats.  This causes a limited selection of tickets for the consumer and you’re often faced with two choices, take it or leave it.  If you take it, they’re probably not seats you wanted.  If you leave it, you’re probably not going to get a second opportunity!

Take a look at what’s currently available on a resale site for Kenny Chesney tickets.  Alternatively, you can look for tickets when they go on sale at Ticket Master.

george-straitThe retiring country singer, George Strait, is finalizing his farewell tour and what better way to cap it off than to set a US concert attendance record!  104,793 fans packed the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to bid farewell to George Strait.  A record for the largest concert crowd at an indoor venue in the USA.

His “Cowboy Rides Away Tour” spanned 2 years and included several stadiums and other large venues.  Fans were eager to see Strait play his final concert in their city.  Not only did George Strait break the record, he shattered it.  The previous record was the Rolling Stones at the Louisiana Superdome in 1981 (87,500).  The new record is an impressive 17, 293 higher than the now 2nd place show.

At 10:40 PM, George Strait left the stage, one final time, to a seemingly never-ending standing ovation and deafening scream by the 100,000 plus in attendance.  The concert was filled with super-star appearances by fellow country stars that joined Strait to pay tribute to a pioneer that helped put Country music where it is today.  It was a very memorable night for the fans as well as George Strait himself.  Guests included Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Faith Hill and others.

Country singer Kenny Chesney received a whopping eleven nominations for the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year for the fourth consecutive time.

Kenny Chesney’s star is shining bright at the Academy of Country Music Awards this year. He is leading the nominations, with nods for Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, as well as Song and Video of the Year for “Don’t Blink.”

He received another two nominations in the Album of the Year category for singing and producing “Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates;” two more for single Record of the Year for singing and producing “Don’t Blink;” and another two for singing and producing “Shiftwork” in the Vocal Event of the Year category.

Should the 39-year-old singer-songwriter receive the entertainer of the year title, it would be his fourth consecutive win.

Chesney’s “Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates” was released in September 2007 to great success, both critically and commercially. It made its debut on the Billboard 200 at No. 3.

Second-best at Tuesday’s nomination announcement was Rodney Atkins, who received six nods of his own, including for Top Male Vocalist, Song and Video of the Year for “Watching You” and Album of the Year for “If You’re Going through Hell.”

Brad Paisley, Big & Rich and Sugarland each received four nominations.

Paisley is vying with Chesney and Atkins in the Top Male Vocalist category and has also been nominated for Entertainer of the Year. His “5th Gear” earned him an Album of the Year nod, while “Online” received a nomination for Video of the Year.

Big & Rich and Sugarland are competing against each other in all four nominated categories: Top Vocal Duo, Single Record, Song and Video of the Year.

The nominations were announced Tuesday morning by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood on CBS’ Early Show via satellite from Nashville. Fans will be able to vote for their favorite entertainer in the respective category, for the first time ever.

“I think it’s too soon for this sort of thing,” Kenny suggests. “There’s still so much to do. But I know they spoke to the people who had a lot to do with how we’ve accomplished what we have, and everyone who works with me came away feeling like they were really trying to get at not just how we did it, but why the fans have responded to me and the guys and this music in the way they have.”

Kenny Chesney Country Music Superstar!Kenny’s won the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year award three straight times, so it’s a good bet his name will be among the finalists again Tuesday when this year’s nominees are announced. Meanwhile, he’s planning to hit the road next month for his Poets & Pirates Tour, which kicks off April 18 in Uncasville, Conn.

“I think it’s pretty simple,” Kenny says, explaining his philosophy. “Cut the songs I’ve always lived or seen my friends go through, because I knew lots of other people just like me and my buddies had lived them, too. Then take it out on the road, give people the time of their lives, do a show that gives everything, makes people forget, and know people will always come back to a good time.”
