Selena Gomez Will Not be in Spring Breakers 2

Spring Breakers Selena GomezSelena Gomez will not appear in the sequel to Spring Breakers.  It was announced in recent days by the film production company, Wild Bunch, and confirmed by the website, Screen Daily.  Selena Gomez is not appearing, however, it seems that other members of the original cast, which included Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and James Franco, will also not be featured in the Spring Breakers sequel.

The news of a sequel to Spring Breakers was in the air for some time, but the official announcement arrived just a couple of days ago, when the producers of Wild Bunch announced plans to complete the film in time for a new projection to ‘upcoming Cannes Film Festival 2014 , which will take place May 14th to 25th. Spring Breakers tells the story of a group of students that to combat the boredom of small town America and they go on vacation (Spring Break). Between parties featuring on alcohol and drugs, the girls get into trouble and are arrested, but a drug dealer offers them a deal to get them out of jail. The second movie will be titled Spring Breakers: The Second Coming, is directed by music video director Jonas Akerlund and written by Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting). Vincent Maraval of Wild Bunch to Screen Daily revealed that the film “is not a direct sequel, although there are allusions to some of the characters of the original film”. According to reports, the new film will focus on a new group of young students revelers, who will find themselves in trouble when a community of evangelical Christians try to convert them.

Meanwhile, after having attended a private dinner at Cipriani restaurant for the launch of the new book by Mirtha Michelle “Letters To The Men I Have Loved,” Selena has flown with her ​​friends at a secret location to spend a few days of vacation.
