The Red Sox and Yankees are set to play again tonight at Fenway Park in Boston, MA after an opening day mathup between the 2 teams. Since then, the Red Sox had a bit of a slide and moved down to 4th in the AL East. The Yankees meanwhile are good enough for 1st place except for the fact that the Rays are HOT! The Rays claimed the #1 spot in AL East and have held on to it.
Toronto has been keeping pace with the Sox to keep the 3rd spot out of reach from Boston. Meanwhile, Baltimore has struggled against all teams but the Red Sox. Baltimore won 4 out of a possible 6 games so far this season against the Red Sox.
Tonight, Josh Beckett will hope to continue the momentum that Boston has gained in the past week, coming off a 4 game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. New York comes to Fenway Park with Phil Hughes who has been great so far (3-0 1.44 ERA).
Boston has been doing well with the bats and hopefully can shake up Hughes a bit as Beckett has not been his usual dominant self as of yet.
Game time is at 7:10 pm EST and along with a 7:00 Red Sox vs Yankees game, Boston fans will also be keeping an eye on the Celtics who are playing in Boston against the Cavaliers in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals AND game 4 of the Boston Bruins vs Philadelphia Flyers series. The Bruins lead the series 3-0 and hope to close the series tonight in Philly.
