Army vs Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium

So on 11/20/2010, Army and Notre Dame will be playing a cold November football game… at Yankee Stadium.  The Army Black Knights and Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be playing on somewhat neutral territory.  I say somewhat neutral because Army is closer to the New Yankee Stadium but Notre Dame always travels in large numbers.  Not to mention that there are lots of Fighting Irish fans all across the country.

Notre Dame head coach, Charlie Weis thought this is a special moment in his life as he recalls going to Yankees and Giants games at the Old Yankee Stadium as a child.

It is possible that Army will host more future games at Yankee Stadium in the future.  Possible opponents may include the Syracuse Orange and Rutgers.

Notre Dame is trying to boost exposure and has been thinking about future games in Foxborough, San Antonio, New Orleans, Arlington and East Rutherford.  Also playing at NFL stadiums would boost player morale and encourage the players to perform well as the NFL is the ultimate goal for many college football players.
